# [[Quetzalcoatlus]] >Huge Beast >[!Caption|right lp|hsmall] > >Art by Mark Witton and Darren Naish The quetzalcoatlus (sometimes called anhanwera by the locals) is a huge flying reptile found throughout the coasts and mountains of [[Ibir]], [[Vesper]], and [[Quetzoc]]. It feeds on small animals like capybaras and caymans, and it is known to prey on humans and horses as well. ## Campaign Appearances * [[Session 9 - The Curupira]]: A quetzalcoatlus attacks the wagon. * [[Session 12 - The Ghoul and the Bird]]: A quetzalcoatlus lands on the ruins of the [[Flagbearer Outpost]] and charges at [[William Correia e Silva|William]]. [[Itxaro]] stops it and using his animal handling skills and spells, calms down the beast and takes it for a flight. * [[Session 29 - Party at Bonewood Manor]]: [[Itxaro]] talks to [[Caliandra Djipóc]] at [[Lord Arthur Valleysworth]]'s party about his experience with a quetzalcoatlus and learns tips on how to befriend one.
