The eyes of the duergar are adapted to the darkness and they have sensitivity to sunlight. They also have innate magical abilities that allow them to become invisible or change their size at will. They are distant cousins to the [[Aturi]]. Little is known about duergar society in the [[World Below]] besides that they send raid parties to capture and enslave people in the surface. Before the [[Age of Colonization]], most passages were sealed by the [[Aturi]], but those seals were broken during the [[Reign of Terror]] due to the mining operations of the [[Golden Horizon Trading Company]], and the duergar raids became more present. Many [[Lucian|Lucians]] would trade slaves with the duergar during the [[Reign of Terror]]. ## Campaign Appearances * [[Session 30 - Beneath Bonewood Manor]]: A group of Duergar are encountered in the dungeons of [[Bonewood Manor]], where they are involved in the slave trade with [[Lord Arthur Valleysworth]] and [[The Dominatrix]]. * [[Session 31 - Panic! at the Pleasure Room]]: The Duergar engage in a fierce battle with the party after the death of The Dominatrix, with their leader managing to escape. * [[Session 32 - Threads of Fate]]: More Duergar are found in cells and attack the party before retreating from the dungeon.
