The eyes of the duergar are adapted to the darkness and they have sensitivity to sunlight. They also have innate magical abilities that allow them to become invisible or change their size at will. They are distant cousins to the [[Aturi]]. Little is known about duergar society in the [[World Below]] besides that they send raid parties to capture and enslave people in the surface. Before the [[Age of Colonization]], most passages were sealed by the [[Aturi]], but those seals were broken during the [[Reign of Terror]] due to the mining operations of the [[Golden Horizon Trading Company]], and the duergar raids became more present. Many [[Lucian|Lucians]] would trade slaves with the duergar during the [[Reign of Terror]].
