Legend tells that Francis was a king in [[Jangalore]] that was kidnapped and sold into slavery in [[Ibir]], forced to mine gold. Francis worked hard and hid part of the gold he mined every day until he could buy his own liberty, the liberty of his colleagues, and even the gold mine he worked in. Francis became a devotee of [[Sol]], starting his own church in [[Fortuna]]. Francis’ followers helped fight off the [[Lucian]] in [[Ibir]] even after his death. He was sanctified after the [[Reign of Terror]], and the date is celebrated in the [[Saint Francis' Festival]].
Saint Francis is not very well known outside of [[Ibir]], and it’s mostly worshiped by [[settlers]] of Jangalori descent. He is usually included in prayers for justice and for a better life.
