Multiple characters can help each other or deal with different setbacks. Failing to deal with a cumulative setback accumulates it. You can deal with an injury by succeeding in a Medicine check with DC equals to the injury. This doesn’t solve or accumulate the injury, but gives you advantage on the Con save of that injury today.
