# [[Navigate]]
> ***Solo task — Happens during a [[Travel]] task.***

The character leads the party through the landscape. They roll a Survival check to navigate and suffer a navigation impediment on a failure. Traveling through a road doesn’t need a navigator or a navigation check, and mapped areas can be navigated with advantage.
Alternatively, the navigator can use their Survival check to follow the track of another creature. Success means that the tracker knows the direction that the tracked creature took and can guide the party through the same path. Failure also leads to a navigation impediment.
