They seek to broaden their reach across the colony, especially with [[Diamantine]]'s diamond veins dwindling. The consortium has been opposed to returning historic [[Aturi]] mines to the natives. ## Relationship with the [[Imperial Army]] As the main providers of metal ore and gems, the needs of the [[Fortunan Mining Consortium|FMC]] are directly aligned with the needs of the [[Empire of Light]], and higher-ups in the Consortium have benefitted from operations of the Imperial Army in the past, and vice-versa. ## Relationship with [[The Luminaries]] Both the [[Fortunan Mining Consortium|FMC]] and [[The Luminaries]] are two capitalist organizations that represent large property owners of different sides of the countryside/urban divide, and as such, they have plenty of potential for synergies. ## Relationship with the [[Aturi Federation]] While the [[Fortunan Mining Consortium|FMC]] has used [[Aturi]] expertise to find ore veins beneath the mountains of [[Fortuna]], as well as contributing significantly to the reconstruction of [[Vaikemekhem]], the Consortium still holds a good deal of minor historically [[Aturi]] mines. They have also many times in the past obtained mining rights to areas that were in the process of requiring special designation as native land, almost as if they've had prior information of the natives' application process, which has caused some conflicts between the organizations. ## Relationship with the [[Royal Court of Fortuna]] The dismantling of the [[Golden Horizon Trading Company]] and creation of the [[Fortunan Mining Consortium]] created a new economical power in the colony that is not directly tied to the Court of Fortuna. While the Consortium has to go through the Court for mining and logging permits, the riches of the [[Fortunan Mining Consortium|FMC]] allowed for many of their higher ranks to become nobles and gain seats in the [[Pickaxe Parliament]], gaining the enmity of many historical members of the Court. ## Relationship with the [[Skullbright Mercenary Company]] Text
