A small forested isle in [[Lake Hope (lake)|Lake Hope]] surrounded by jagged rocks. It is known to be haunted, as nobody that stepped on it came back to tell their tales. Features of note include sloping dunes, a thick coastal swamp, and a ruined abbey of [[Saint Lucius the Purifier|Saint Lucius]] that was connected to [[Baron Carlos Moreno de Lake Hope]] and his campaign to find the [[Holy Blade of Sir Sebastian Brown|Holy Blade]] and [[Shield of Sir Sebastian Brown]]. ### The Winding Way A dungeon under the cellar of the abbey of the island. Previously occupied by [[Baron Carlos Moreno de Lake Hope|Baron Moreno]]. ## Campaign Appearances * [[Session 41 - Sky Asunder]]: The party learns the Isle could be the source of the [[Sky Asunder]] event, as it was historically connected to [[Baron Carlos Moreno de Lake Hope]]. * [[Session 42 - Beneath the Abbey]]: The party traverses the dunes and forests and reach the ruins of the abbey. * [[Session 43 - Enjoy your Death]]: The party enters the Winding Way. ## Adventure Module >[!Caption|right lp clear-headings] >![cover](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/6/66/Ghosts_of_Saltmarsh.jpg) >Sea adventures in a landlocked colony! The Isle of the Abbey comes from *Dungeon* magazine #34 from 1992, and is reprinted in *Ghosts of Saltmarsh*. Despite the book being mostly about seafaring adventures, this one had a bunch of hooks that could easily be adapted into the campaign in meaningful ways. %% #UpdateLocationTree%% ## Location Tree >[!place] [[Places/Natural Features/Lake Hope (lake).md|Lake Hope (lake)]] (🌅 Body of Water) >>[!place] YOU ARE HERE [[Places/Isle of the Abbey.md|Isle of the Abbey]] (📍 Point of Interest) > %%END%%
