## [[Temple of the Reptile God]]
![[Entrance to the Temple of the Reptile God.png|sban]]
The Temple of the Reptile God was an ancient structure built before the [[Age of Colonization]] by an unknown people. It was the lair of [[Mboikangue]] and the base of operations of the [[Cult of the Reptile God]].
After the defeat of [[Mboikangue]] and its lieutenants, the [[Scavenger's League of Fortuna]] demolished the entrance to the temple.
## The Location
![[Temple of the Reptile God.png|sban]]
The interiors were made of bare stone with tiled floors and some rooms were partially flooded.
Some walls were marked with the sign of [[Keruweva]], and touching them with the [[Tapir's Member]] would open a secret door.

>The Chamber of Three
One chamber within the temple (keyed 9 in the map) had decorated carvings of humans fighting lizardfolk and snakefolk, with a skeletal [[Mboikangue]] constricting depictions of [[Native Ibiri Religion|native Ibiri deities]]. It also contained three heads on an altar: One mummified, one of stone, and one of wood. All without eyes and with a mouth open but no tongues. They have respectively the symbols for the [[Spirits of the Ancestors]], [[Ybí]], and [[Keruweva]]. A possible provocation of [[Mboikangue]] against the deities.
The chambers of [[Mboikangue]] (keyed 13 in the map) had various niches on the wall containing desiccated corpses of [[Mboikangue]]'s former rivals that she would reanimate to attack invaders.
## Campaign Appearances
* [[Session 2 - South of the Border]]: The party reached the courtyard entrance to the temple.
* [[Session 3 - The Temple of the Reptile God]] through [[Session 5 - The Reptile God]]: The party explores the place

This adventure was adapted from the classic [_Against the Cult of the Reptile God_](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Against_the_Cult_of_the_Reptile_God).
The original city of Orlane was simplified and adapted to [[Orlando]] while keeping the same theme and the same beats. Instead of the original Explictica Defilus, the party faces [[Mboikangue]] as the Reptile God.
The original dungeon in the original adventure is a mess, so it was completely remade to fit [[Ibir]]. The Chamber of Three puzzle (that was skipped by the players) comes from [Out of the Box Encounters](https://nerdarchy.com/product/out-of-the-box-encounters-for-5th-edition-pdf/) book by Nerdarchy. The [[Tapir's Member]] came exclusively out of the name that I'm sure was inspired on some Brazilian folkloric tale, but I can't remember which.
