Goodwheat is a town south of the [[Gold Route]] and between the [[Sunset Range]] and [[Wolf Wood]], and is connected to [[Goldthread]] through a winding road to the north.
The town is known for the Hanging Tree planted in the central square, with its hanging nooses a bitter memory of the [[Reign of Terror]] and what the citizens went through.
A large population of [[Goré-Goré]] people moved to the outskirts of town in a slums area known as New Goré.

The region has abundant creeks and small streams that supply a vast amount of farms surrounding the town center. The city itself slopes from north to south into a fertile valley, giving most districts a good view of the [[Sunset Range]] in the distance.
# Government
The town has elected [[Mayor Eduardo Battaglia]], a wealthy merchant. The head of the local [[Imperial Army]] garrison is [[Captain Aldenor Bosque]].
Despite being the capital of the [[Barony of Goodwheat]], [[Baroness Silvana Jacinto Guimarães de Goodwheat]] has moved to [[Goldthread]] to strengthen the proposal of the [[Duchy of Goldthread]].
# Economy
Goodwheat is an exporter of grains and vegetables, with plenty of cattle farms in the surrounding as well.
The town also has a large concentration of textile manufacture and tailors.
# History
There are records of [[Goodwheat]] being a rural settlement ever since the end of the [[Age of Colonization]].
During the [[Reign of Terror]], the [[Lucian]] regime kept a close leash on Goodwheat, executing fugitive slaves and heretics on the Hanging Tree to discourage dissent.
# Districts
Emporium and Gardens sit at a mostly flat area of land that starts sloping more steeply to the south-east. Most buildings are made of brick and mortar and painted white with colored detailing.

## Emporium (Market District)
Located northwest of town, has a wide array of markets selling local produce, and varied shops including plenty of tailors.

### Goodwheat Smokes
Local tobacco shop, offers pipes, cigarettes and other paraphernalia. Sells tobacco planted in the region.
## Gardens (Low District)
Northernmost district, at a mostly flat land. Mostly residential.

## Hanging Tree (Artisan District)
Built at a gently sloping area. A most the textile manufacture plants in town are installed in this region.
### The Hanging Tree
Large twisted ancient tree with nooses hanging from it. A relic of the Lucian days. On nights of full moon, blood seeps from its bark.

### Church of Sol the Forgiver
Small baroque church at the center of town. Interior lavishly decorated with paintings depicting scenes with Sol and the saints of the church.
### Delver’s Delight
Part of the [[Delver's Delight]] chain. Sells all sorts of exploration equipment.
### Wolfwood Cotton and Loom
[[Seamstress Silvana]] repairs clothes and provides uniforms to local businesses, like the [[Golden Dawn Haras]].
## New Goré (Slums)
This district slopes steeply to the south-east, and the further you go, the more basal the buildings are, sometimes brick-built but not painted over, or simply built out of wood or [wattle-and-daub](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wattle_and_daub).

## Garrison (High District)
Relatively flat area that slopes strongly south of the built area. Houses the manors of local lords and administrative buildings.

### Battaglia Manor
House of [[Carlos Battaglia]], cousin of [[Mayor Eduardo Battaglia]]. Recently died of mysterious causes.
