They intend to stop at a few points to [[Use the Spyglass]] and map more territory. * On the road, [[Damrakas]] scouts ahead and sees that group of soldiers of the [[Imperial Army]] has stopped a group of underage orcs and a mother carrying a child. [[Damrakas]] runs back to warn the party and [[Morgano Beltrão|Morgano]] hears a shot fired. [[Drakus Thunderheart|Drakus]] and [[Morgano Beltrão|Morgano]] run ahead of the cart, while [[Damrakas]] hides behind reeds between the road and [[Goldwood Lake]]. * [[Drakus Thunderheart|Drakus]] and [[Morgano Beltrão|Morgano]] try to argue for the release of the orcs. [[Morgano Beltrão|Morgano]] speaks to the orcs in their language while [[Drakus Thunderheart|Drakus]] deals with [[Captain Vasques]]. These are just refugees running away from conflict in [[Daur-Hai]] territory. The party convinces the captain that there are orc bandits down the road, and the captain sends 2 of the 4 soldiers to check. * The cart reaches the checkpoint and a soldier tells [[Itxaro]] to halt. [[Captain Vasques]] won't budge, as the attempts to convince him fail. As the situation starts to escalate, [[Damrakas]] lets an arrow fly towards [[Captain Vasques]], but misses. * Combat starts. [[Captain Vasques]] tells the soldiers the party are traitors and tells them to shoot them. The soldiers fire their muskets and one hits the orc mother. [[Morgano Beltrão|Morgano]] guides the youngsters away from the battle. [[Joppyr]] runs in to try and save the mother, but it's too late: "You monsters!" screams [[Joppyr]] at the soldiers. * The party manages to defeat the captain in combat and [[Drakus Thunderheart|Drakus]] has the remaining soldiers surrender. At this point, the soldiers that went checking for the alleged orc bandits return, and are dispatched by [[Damrakas]] and [[Itxaro]], that then return and execute the surrendered soldiers. * The party discusses the situation: [[Drakus Thunderheart|Drakus]] had the situation under control, but [[Damrakas]] and [[Itxaro]] don't trust the military, and they believe letting them go would put a mark on their heads for killing the captain. [[Drakus Thunderheart|Drakus]] argues that the soldiers were just following orders, but the others say that this is how things were whenever they dealt with the [[Imperial Army]] and that they are all corrupt. [[Drakus Thunderheart|Drakus]] says he believes in change and they could do better getting rid of the bad soldiers. [[William Correia e Silva|William]] agrees with [[Drakus Thunderheart|Drakus]] and says the best way to change the system is through the inside. * While the discussion goes on, [[Morgano Beltrão|Morgano]] talks to the young orcs. The mother was taking them somewhere where she had family, but they don't know where. [[Morgano Beltrão|Morgano]] tells them they should follow them, and they will sort out this situation. They talk about burial rites for the mother. * The [[Afternoon]] arrives and the party splits to deal with the situation at hand: [[Morgano Beltrão|Morgano]] and [[Joppyr]] take the [[Orc Youngsters]] to cremate their mother, [[Drakus Thunderheart|Drakus]] and [[Itxaro]] bury [[Captain Vasques]] and the soldiers, while [[Damrakas]] takes [[William Correia e Silva|William]] and the cart forwards north into the [[Goldwood Forest]] to find an advantage point to map out the surrounding area. * As they map the territory, [[William Correia e Silva|William]] points out to [[Damrakas]] a formation north-east of their location: It seem like [[Abandoned Termite Farm|spires of red soil that jut out from the forest canopy]], similar to the formations that [[Damrakas]] encountered in the [[Curupira's Grove]] [[Session 9 - The Curupira|in the past]]. * The party prepares to spend the night in the [[Evening]]. The party forages for food to help feeding the [[Orc Youngsters]] and [[Joppyr]] sets up camp, but does it too close to the bog, so the party is victim of mosquitos in the night. Some contract [[Mosquito Fever]], including the orc baby, but [[Joppyr]] is able to lay his hands to heal the disease the day after. ## 3rd of [[Flowertide, 1049|Flowertide]] ([[🌞 Sunny]]) * The party continues travelling. [[Drakus Thunderheart|Drakus]] decides to [[Scout]] to keep some distance of the others and to think about what has happened the day before. He reaches an incline next to the [[Gold Route]], which he climbs to observe the landscape. In the sky, he sees a large red dragon flying from [[Burnt Pass]] towards [[Castle Ember]]. * The cart reaches [[Drakus Thunderheart|Drakus]] and talk about the dragon. The [[Orc Youngsters]] tell [[Morgano Beltrão|Morgano]] about the power struggle going on among the [[Daur-Hai]]: [[Dorokor Daur-Hai]] is contesting leadership. She has amassed an army and proven she deserves to be leader. She's seen as blessed by [[Keruweva|Asgaja]] and earned her mount, the great red dragon [[Tatarazan]], before taking over [[Castle Ember]]. * They take the [[Afternoon]] to [[Use the Spyglass]]. North to their location, they see a massive strip mine, and behind it, what [[William Correia e Silva|William]] believe to be the village of [[Sapphires]]. * The party continues on the road through the [[Evening]] and reach [[Lake Hope]] at [[Night]]. In the city, they notice the streets of the [[Lorival]] neighborhood are blocked and occupied with siege machines. They decide to head to the [[Fortunato]] neighborhood to spend the night there.
